What data is processed when you visit DA6IT.de, why it is processed and which choices you have regarding statistics and analytics.

Controller

Privacy at DA6IT.de

The person responsible for processing personal data on this private website is:

Daniel “DA6IT” Eschner

Achter de Stadt 9

Germany

Email: daniel@da6it.de

Principles

Personal data is processed only insofar as this is necessary for operation, security, communication or, with your consent, audience measurement.

The legal bases include in particular Art. 6(1)(a), (b) and (f) GDPR and, for access to information on your device, Section 25 TDDDG.

Infrastructure

Hosting, servers and log data

Own server in a data center

DA6IT.de runs on server hardware administered by me in a data center operated by WiiT AG in Düsseldorf. WiiT AG provides data-center and network infrastructure.

Where connection data is processed by the infrastructure provider as part of technical service delivery or troubleshooting, this takes place in order to provide the service securely.

Server log files

When the website is accessed, standard technical log data may be processed, including IP address, date and time, requested URL, referrer, browser/user agent, HTTP status, transferred data volume and technical error or security information.

This processing is used to deliver the website, analyze errors, maintain stability and defend against attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Log data is deleted or anonymized once it is no longer required for these purposes; in the event of security incidents, affected data may be retained until the matter has been fully clarified.

Communication & website

Contact and technical functions

Email contact

If you contact me by email, the sender address, technical mail headers and the content of your message are processed in order to answer your request. Depending on the content, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR.

The data is deleted once it is no longer required to handle the request, unless legal or security-related reasons require longer retention.

WordPress & necessary storage

WordPress and DA6IT Core may use technically necessary cookies or local browser storage, for example for sessions, administration or to remember your privacy choice. This storage is used solely to provide the function you requested.

External links

DA6IT.de contains links to external websites and services. Once you open such a link, the privacy policy of the respective provider applies to the processing carried out there.

Statistics

Matomo and Google Analytics

Statistics services are prepared in DA6IT Core but are currently not enabled by the Core.

Matomo · self-hosted

A self-hosted Matomo instance may be used for audience and usage statistics. Matomo runs in the server environment administered by me. Using Matomo therefore does not, by itself, transfer analytics data to an external analytics hosting provider.

After consent, data such as visited pages, time and duration, referrer, downloads and outbound links, device and browser information, operating system, screen resolution, language, approximate geographic information, campaign parameters, returning-visitor identifiers and, depending on the active Matomo configuration, the IP address may be processed. Matomo may use cookies or comparable browser storage for this purpose.

The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and, where information is stored on or read from your device, Section 25(1) TDDDG. Data is retained only as long as necessary for audience analysis and trend comparison and is then deleted or aggregated.

Google Analytics 4 · if enabled

DA6IT.de may use Google Analytics 4 for statistical analysis. DA6IT Core loads the service only after you have explicitly consented to statistics. Before consent, the Core does not load a Google Analytics tag and therefore does not send analytics data to Google.

If enabled, page views, events, referrers, device and browser data, language, approximate location information, technical identifiers and usage information may be transmitted to Google. The provider in the European Economic Area is generally Google Ireland Limited; processing by Google LLC and other Google companies, including outside the EEA, cannot be ruled out.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and, for cookies or comparable access, Section 25(1) TDDDG. According to Google, Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; Google also refers to Standard Contractual Clauses as a transfer mechanism where required.

Own services & SEO

Wavelog and Google Search Console

Wavelog · wavelog.da6it.de

DA6IT.de may embed content and live data from my own Wavelog instance at wavelog.da6it.de, such as on-air status, recent QSOs or activity views. Wavelog also runs in my own server environment.

Loading this content creates technical connections to the Wavelog subdomain, during which the standard connection and log data of a web request may be processed. This does not result in disclosure to a third-party Wavelog hosting provider.

Google Search Console

Google Search Console may be used for technical search-engine optimization and to analyze the visibility of DA6IT.de. Search Console is not a visitor-tracking script embedded on DA6IT.de. The search and performance data available there comes from Google Search services and from domain verification.

Domain verification may be carried out using DNS or a meta tag, for example. This does not cause DA6IT Core to start any additional analytics tracking for website visitors.

Your rights

Access, erasure, objection & withdrawal

Subject to the applicable legal requirements, you have in particular the right to obtain information about your personal data, to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object to certain processing.

Where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future. The lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal remains unaffected.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority.
